Overview
I'm absolutely gagged. (To members of the LGBTQ+ community such as myself, this is a good thing.) Gui and Cameron's surprise proposal was a surprise to everyone in their lives - me included. When Cameron somehow found my contact information through a mutual coworker of Gui and I's, I was utterly gobsmacked; I had the honor of capturing this incredibly special moment bestowed upon me.
The Moment
Picture this: your coworker's soon-to-be-fiancé's parents are guiding you to the second story of their lakefront property, bringing you water and making sure you have a good line of sight between you, your coworker, and his soon-to-be-fiancé. He absolutely cannot see you or else it's all over (luckily I am only 158cm tall and Gui couldn't see me from the distance I was posted at). Also picture this: you're Gui and you have absolutely zero clue that you're about to dig for your emerald-sapphire ring out of a can of worms. You just thought you were going fishing with your love and your cousin! Surrounded by friends and family, Cameron popped the ultimate question, and Gui responded with an enthusiastic "yes!" Not to brag, but I was totally there to see it too.
The Photos
After the proposal, I revealed myself to Gui and Cameron, and the former was very happy to see me behind the lens. With my flash, film camera, and audacity in hand, I photographed these two lovebirds on the deck of the lakefront home with the beautiful sunset behind us. After we finished our session, I was welcomed right into their families with delicious Brazilian steak, Peruvian ceviche, and the most delicious dulce-de-leche flan I have ever tasted in my entire life.
Gui and Cameron, thank you both so much for entrusting me with one of the biggest moments of your lives!
