Branding that feels like home
A few Saturdays ago, I had the privilege of collaborating with Katie Jean of WebDesignToo create a new suite of images for her updated website. She knew I did branding photography from a friend of mine that referred her because he loved his graduation photos so much, and we began to talk about her brand, what she wanted out of her photos, and where it would feel most like her.
We ultimately decided on having the session at UniTea Kava, a Kava Lounge in Dunedin, Florida! Katie is close friends with the owners of the establishment as well as the "kavatenders" that work there and UniTea's regular customers. The interior of the bar is clean and professional with a touch of hominess that made it the perfect place to shape the image of WebDesignToo's brand. Kevin, one of the owners of UniTea, kindly assisted us with the lighting in the space due to the less-than-idea weather outside!
Katie also brought a bunch of adorable, kitschy props, such as her notebooks, computer, iPad, her telephone shaped AirPod case, her husband Jay (haha), and a cup with the head of a bird on it! WebDesignToo's branding materials feature a cockatoo motif, so we incorporated the bird into every possible photo.
By the end of the session, Katie and I had shared ideas and laughs as we created these images for her website. As a Tampa Bay branding photographer, I absolutely love collaborating with web designers and other small business owners to make their brand story come to life through these photos!
